POSITION: CLERK TYPIST SALARY RANGE: A06 $29,054.12 - $40,223.75 LOCATION: PRE-COLLEGE PROGRAMS

Under general supervision of the Director and Assistant Director of Pre-College Programs, is responsible for performing basic professional functions using established policies, procedures, precedents, and guidelines; does related work as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs routine, repetitive clerical work of a varied nature such as;
  • Maintaining schedules
  • Data entry
  • Keeping records
  • Gives information according to department regulations in person and via the telephone.
  • Performs other duties as required to achieve program goals and objectives
  • Adheres to university policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to adapt and react to changing circumstance.
  • Ability to work remotely when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of office methods, practices, routines and equipment. Ability to compose, type, proofread, and edit correspondence. Create and maintain filing systems, mailing lists and other related information. Excellent and clear communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Work as a team member and foster a cooperative work environment. Perform related duties as required.

PREFERRED SKILLS: Assists in proofreading typewritten and printed material. Creates spreadsheets (MS Excel/Access) for record keeping and reference purposes; as well as, for reporting purposes. Maintains confidentiality regarding all work information and information handled during the course of the work day.

If you do not reside in New Jersey, you have one year after the date you take your office, position or employment to relocate your residence to New Jersey. If you do not do so, you are subject to removal from your office, position or employment."
