Job Summary


JCCC is looking for a diverse pool of applicants for a part-time political science faculty position in the History and Political Science Department. The ideal candidate is expected to teach American National Government, Introduction to Political Science, and others courses as needed. They will perform other duties expected of part-time faculty, including maintaining scheduled office hours, developing and implementing course and program assessment of student learning outcomes, and other duties as assigned. They will be available to teach face-to-face starting in the spring 2022 semester. Teaching assignments could be any combination of face-to-face (day or evening), online, or using teleconference software like Zoom. Teaching assignments are subject to change as needed. Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in political science OR Master’s degree and 18 graduate credit hours in political science and related experience
Ability to teach American National Government and Introduction to Political Science
Ability to teach classes face-to-face during the day


Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Political Science
Ability to teach other JCCC political science courses
Demonstrated expertise in political science
Demonstrated knowledge of academic culture
Documented successful teaching at the college level
Professional experience, either elected or employed
