Experience developing particle tracing codes for use on MSI


Research Description
This position provides the theoretical and simulation support for comparison to data analysis of wave-particle interactions observed by NASA satellites.

Job Duties
Develop and run particle tracing codes on MSI
Write instructions for use of code
Train undergraduate in running code
Perform literature search on relevant physics
Assist in analysis of dataOther duties of a similar scope as assigned.
Write up results

The researcher’s duties will include the following:

55% Development and improvement of particle tracing code and Hamiltonian approach; Running code

35% Analysis of results from code
Perform data analysis, interpretation and presentation.
Providing experimental errors and statistics on code results
Keep detailed records of all procedures.

10% Day-to-Day Laboratory Operations
Assist with managing day-to-day group operations.
  • Participate in weekly meetings
  • Train other staff in code use

Other duties of a similar scope as assigned.
