Job Title: Warehouse Specialist (Ammunition Supply Point) – Temporary Position
Location: Fort Rucker- AL
Reports to: Designated Supervisor

Requires a Current SECRET Clearance
Position Summary
As directed, performs a variety of warehousing duties which require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Work involves the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods; rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage; removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties. Assignments require a) a good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines; b) an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced; and c) analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data, to establish the facts, and to take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
Essential Functions

  • Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
  • Routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
  • Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.
  • Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
  • May operate hand and power trucks (Fork Lifts) in performing warehousing duties.
  • Perform all duties in an effective and efficient manner.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling very heavy parts and loads.
  • Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, and reach as required to work on equipment.
  • Maintains equipment used on a daily basis and cleans work areas to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions when necessary.
  • Ensure that all tasks are performed safely.
  • Wearing safety items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) e.g. gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear, hearing protection, and other items such as aprons or outerwear as appropriate.
  • Employee is required to maintain a valid state-issued Driver's license and applicable Government/Army license.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the mission and contractual requirements.

Education and Citizenship Requirements

  • Required: US nationality/citizenship and residence, with verbal and written fluency in English.
  • Required: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and ideally will have completed training for Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 89B2O/3O, Ammunition Specialist or have equivalent training with 10-15 years of ammunition experience in the grade of E-5 to E-6.
  • Knowledge of the Army Supply Systems outlined in AR 710-2, DA Pamphlet 710-2-1 and AR 19-11 as well as possess the following munitions handling certifications; Ammo-45 Intro to Ammunition, Ammo-68 Military Munitions Rule, Ammo-64 Class V Issue Turn-In and Residue Processing, Ammo-67 Hazardous Familiarization and Safety Transportation .
