Job Description

PRCS- Creating Community through People, Parks and Programs

Loudoun County's Parks, Recreation and Community Services is seeking applicants for a service focused Customer Service Assistant. We have an immediate opening for a full-time Customer Service Assistant at the Dulles South Recreation and Community Center, in South Riding, VA. Dulles South Recreation and Community Center is a state-of-the-art facility with two indoor pools, a gym, fitness studio, with modern cardio and strengthening equipment, climbing wall and indoor track. Our energetic staff provides interesting and creative high-quality programs, activities and special events for residents of all ages and abilities. If you have strong organizational and administrative skills, can resolve issues with a professional demeanor and are service oriented, then this could be the position you've been looking for.

This visible front desk position, greets and offers assistance to a high volume of customers. A proactive work-style are needed to succeed in our busy facility. In addition, this position will:

  • Respond to inquiries about all aspects of the recreation center programs and facilities, in person and using a multi-line telephone
  • Resolve issues and answer questions, directing customers to appropriate staff members when necessary
  • Process program registration and payments utilizing registration software to assist customers with booking facility rentals, processing entry and membership fees and registration for programs and classes while maintaining customer confidentiality
  • Position will provide clerical support to staff members, such as proofreading information, preparing statistical data on Rec Center attendance and processing time sensitive information
  • Creative skills are necessary as the Customer Services Assistant will develop promotional materials and information for the center
  • Work schedule is somewhat flexible to include weekdays and weekends with primary hours being in the evening
  • The ability to multi-task and maintain professional demeanor at all times is imperative to success

HIRING RANGE:$17.82-$23.61

Salary Commensurate with Experience

Job Requirements

  • Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school
  • One year related work experience involving a high level of public contact
  • Previous experience with word processing software is required and must be indicated on your application to be considered for this position
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills required

Special Requirements


  • Computer automated registration and payment processing software for recreation programs, activities and facility rentals as well as extensive experience with multi-line phone system strongly preferred
  • Microsoft office skills preferred

Post Conditional Offer Contingencies

  • Criminal background, Child Protective Services (CPS) and credit checks required
  • Must have certification in First Aid and CPR prior to beginning work
