Volunteer Iowa VISTA Summer 2021
The Volunteer Iowa VISTA project intends to build the capacity of Volunteer Iowa to better support low-income and diverse communities in Iowa through programming, funding, recognition, and training. Our VISTA member will engage in research and analysis of data to develop recommendations, policies, and procedures that enable Volunteer Iowa to increase engagement and services to organizations and individuals in these target areas. This work directly supports our State Service Plan goal of increasing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The VISTA member will conduct the research and analysis and make recommendations to staff, the commission, or the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee, as appropriate.
Member Duties : Research: Iowa philanthropic community to identify: under-funded areas/organizations, potential private funding partners/sources for equity work, Analyze: Review AmeriCorps & mentoring data to identify trends to assist with recruitment/retention, program development, mentoring data, gaps in current data collection process or tools, Recommend: How we can: 1) better serve low-income and/or BIPOC communities, 2) increase engagement of low-income and/or BIPOC individuals in service, 3) develop programs and sites in low-income and/or BIPOC communities, 4) strengthen diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our programming, 5) collect pertinent data **Start date is flexible for this position.**
