Summer Internship: Program Office Intern (College Junior, Senior or Grad Student Level)
The STARS (Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System) Program Office is seeking a motivated student intern for the summer 2021 months to participate in day-to-day operations that include general office administration. This position consists of a variety of tasks to ensure efficient and consistent operations of the business. This is an excellent opportunity to learn operations and program management skills, as well as gain exposure to multi-level leadership and a variety of other programs within the sub-mission area. This position will collaborate with leadership and other departments including but not limited to engineering, finance, supply chain, and business development. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the program staff with a variety of tasks and must be able to adapt in a dynamic work environment.
Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:
Shadow Program Management staff and perform designated tasks in support of program execution
Prepare spreadsheets, track critical program issues, generate/review program reports
Support and participate in program review meetings, assist with meeting preparation (schedule and present through Zoom or Microsoft Teams, generate and circulate meeting materials)
Assemble proposal packages/materials
Work with cross functional teams to develop program plans and create/update procedural guides
Consolidate data from various reporting systems to provide stakeholders with data needed to manage effectively
Assist with archiving of documents
Lead a business improvement project and present to leadership during internship
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with high-level management
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook at minimum)
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Prepare presentations and brief personnel
Desire to learn business operations
Have proven ability to independently push actions to closure
Capable of working remotely during Covid-19 and ability to travel to local Raytheon facilities as Covid-19 restrictions allow (dependent on current Covid-19 restrictions).
This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to U.S, Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements.
Identify concerns, suggest solutions and follow through to closure
Demonstrate tendency to take ownership of role and responsibilities
Experience with Zoom and Microsoft Teams
This position can be for a Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Engineering, and Finance, Management or related field based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience and requirements for the position.
A cumulative GPA of 3.0+ is strongly desired.

- Must have obtained Junior or Senior status as of summer 2021. This position will be hired at the appropriate salary grade based on completed hours of college credit towards the required degree.
- Junior Intern (SA03 Admin Student–Junior) – must have completed 60 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Junior status as of Summer 2021.
- Senior Intern (SA04 Admin Student-Senior) – must have completed 90 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Senior status as of Summer 2021.
- SA05 (Grad Student) – must be enrolled in a Masters Degree Program.
