Full Description

Position Summary:

Hiring Managers must follow policies and procedures for the Human Resource Department. Responsible for supporting the program in hiring new employees and all aspects of the hiring and onboarding process. Work with the HR Specialist on issues and ways to improve service to the program. Provides appropriate support for individuals to help them gain greater independence by making a difference daily in applying the five Chrysalis Values: Respect, Safety, Fun, Mentoring and Accountability


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the recruiting and hiring process
  • Contact applicants as soon as they apply
  • Maintain appropriate number of staff
  • Manage the interview process
  • Train managers on appropriate interviewing process
  • Review and complete reference checks on potential employees
  • Manage new employee orientation
  • Verify work eligibility
  • Manage the AT’s and track applicant progress
  • Complete I-9’s on day of hire
  • E-Verify all employees within 3 days of hire
  • Complete Criminal Background Checks on all new employees
  • Follow the Chrysalis Fraud Prevention Procedures
  • Renew Criminal Background Checks annually or per state requirements
  • Punctuality and regular/consistent attendance at the worksite are required and the employee must be able adhere to their workplace schedule, stay awake and responsive


Maintain employee records

  • Maintain employee’s paperwork
  • Up-date training in Fusion
  • Enter employee information into Paylocity
  • Office of the Inspector General LEIE Checks ran before job offer extended
  • Use Paylocity Reports to insure the quality and validity of information in the system.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records
  • Ensure that I-9 forms are completed according to guidelines

Experience or Education:

  • A minimum of 18 ears of age.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years related working experience


Training and Certifications:

  • Complete all initial and on-going training requirements within established time frames
  • Complete annual CPR, First Aid, SOAR, and OSHA training
  • Complete T.B. (if applicable by area)

  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
  • Ability to be objective in evaluating work accomplishments
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form to resolve problems or issues
  • Ability to use judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, and government law
  • Demonstrate good judgment and ability to handle crisis situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and management
  • Knowledge of, Word, Excel, and the Internet
  • Other duties as assigned
