    Responsibilities

    • Maintain outpatient health and medical treatment records.
    • Perform a variety of routine to moderately complex radiographic procedures such as operation of ionizing radiation equipment.
    • Perform a variety of treatment procedures that require understanding of the human anatomy.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

    Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) ensuring the accuracy of identifying data for radiographs; 2) ensuring compliance with procedures governing the preparation of radiographic records; 3) keeping accurate records of the medical data collected; and 4) assisting in taking and/or reporting vital signs.

    You must be a registered Radiology Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART)

    You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

    • Health Physics
    • Health Systems Data Management
    • Technical Competence


    Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

    Education

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
