The Partnerships Strategist employs a collaborative approach based on social justice and equity to foster partnerships with local entities that are working toward community empowerment. Working with considerable initiative and judgment, this position designs and facilitates opportunities for interested partners to shift toward and align with socially just practices, resulting in improved population health outcomes. This position will also co-create and oversee the criteria and process for distributing tobacco tax revenue to community entities and members to help advance the work.

Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8 am to 5 pm; may require occasional evenings or weekends.

Essential Functions

  • Partnerships - 55%
    • Develops strategic and innovative relationships with community and regional partners with a focus on serving Latinx, immigrants, low-wage earners, LGBTQIA and other populations whose voices have been marginalized by current systems, power-dynamics, and processes.
    • Prioritizes partnerships and initiatives focused on socially just and equitable policy, systems, and environment changes.
    • Centers community voice by utilizing multiple approaches to engage currently marginalized community members in all stages of the work
    • Coaches partner entities in opening pathways for participants to influence health, well-being, and equity considerations when developing and implementing policies, systems, and/or environmental changes.
    • Partners with organizations to build shared capacity that creates efficiency, alignment, and synergy across agencies.
    • Recognizes and communicates with both internal and external partners the intersectionality between social justice, health, and other issues.
    • Supports internal and external partners to build data equity capacity for the long term.
  • Funding Administration - 45%
    • Co-develops with internal team members and impacted community members the eligibility criteria, vision, and process for distributing tobacco tax revenue funding.
    • Cultivates and incorporates youth voice in the tobacco tax revenue funding distribution design.
    • Provides technical assistance to tobacco tax revenue recipients as needed to ensure continued alignment with the established vision for the tobacco tax revenue.
    • Manages contracts to include oversight of scopes of work, evaluation, and performance monitoring.
    • Collaborates with other funding entities with aligned strategic goals to maximize impact and efficiencies.

  • Other Duties as Assigned - 100%
    • Observes safety and security procedures, uses equipment and materials safely and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
    • Serves the community by demonstrating Eagle County Government mission and core values and following relevant policies and procedures.

Qualification

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification, or Registration:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Policy, Community Organizing/Development, Social Justice, or a related field. May substitute up to two years of equivalent combination of training and experience that produces the required knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to an Associate’s Degree.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Policy, Community Organizing/Development, Social Justice, or a related field is preferred.
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience leading systems or policy change, community organizing or mobilizing, or community health initiatives serving marginalized populations.
  • Human-Centered Design practice; demonstrated Spanish language fluency (verbal and written); grant-making/program officer experience; experience working in or with rural or mountain resort communities is preferred.
  • A valid Driver’s License is not required, however, candidates must be able to travel around Eagle County frequently and must have reliable transportation.
