The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this job is to provide administrative assistance to the Policy Management and Communications Unit Director with the coordination, facilitation, development and management of the legal, regulatory, and policy bases for information related functions and activities.

Receive, organize, evaluate and expedite communications regarding the preparation of User Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding in response to requests for data including access to criminal justice systems, criminal history record information, business information, and public information and for purposes including administration of justice functions to include:

Provide administrative assistance assisting with the coordination, establishment, update and maintenance of policies, procedures and forms, related to requests for data, as well as maintaining records of all requests and:

Provide administrative assistance assisting in the executing and filing of all agreements and Memoranda of Understanding

Provide administrative assistance assisting updating and maintaining the database of all agreements and Memoranda of Understanding

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience coordinating, developing, and maintaining policy and procedure data.
2. Experience updating and maintaining databases, including handling electronic files and scanning hard-copy files.
3. Two years of experience using Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Smartsheets, or similar spreadsheet applications.
4. One year of experience using Microsoft SharePoint.
5. Experience and knowledge of records retention or government records.
6. Demonstrate creative and organizational skills.


LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
