How will you make an impact?

Fisher BioServices is seeking a Sr. Account Manager to support and grow our Biorepository and Specialty Logistics for all Government related business. This individual oversees developing and implementing tactical and critical initiatives that support business growth in the Government and related partners market segments. Customers include but not limited to Barda, CDC, DOD, NIH etc This role is responsible selling various clinical trial, biorepository/biobanking, laboratory and kit production services within a defined territory. The aim is to build long term growth for the business unit in this space based on selling quality services and developing innovative solutions for our clients. The Sr. Account Manager will also establish and handle the business relationships with internal partners which includes seeking new and incremental business with existing customers, as well as to identify, target and propose new business with new customers. With a combination of both existing and new customers, this position is expected to build a pipeline, prioritize, and support the collection of new business opportunities across the Pharma, Biotech, and Academic markets.

What will you do?

  • Develop strategic execution plan within PSG (Pharma Services Group), CRG (Clinical Research Group) and Fisher BioServices to develop, gain and grow the U.S. Government business.
  • Lead and participate in the identification, qualification and pursuit of strategic business opportunities with U.S. Government through client relationships, effective bid strategies, productive teaming, and outstanding proposal development.
  • Identify and secure sales opportunities consistent with Thermo Fisher’s core strengths, while developing and implementing the sales strategy to secure these accounts.
  • Maintain effective customer relations with purchasing and end users within assigned territory
  • Demonstrate available resources to meet customer needs and work optimally with cross-functional team of internal resources
  • Drive sales strategies to meet plan and expand business within assigned territory; Maintains a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives; generate and qualify leads, perform outbound marketing campaigns
  • Works closely with our Director of Government along with internal personnel (operations, account executives) to identify ways to optimize services (existing and future) and drive bid proposal success by demonstrating leadership with account specific targets/plans to drive growth
  • Establishes strong senior-level relationships with customers (at Manager, VP and Director levels) and engages with executives on behalf of the government customers where appropriate
  • Perform sales calls with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory
  • Research competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers incorporating this data in the business plan; Introduces new products and services
  • Leads preparation of technical and business proposals submitted in response to Government Request for Proposals for all government-related business.
  • Assist in developing business development goals, priorities, budgets and activities for Government contracts.
  • Work with the Thermo Fisher Transportation team to identify growth opportunities within the key areas of the U.S Government and related agencies
  • Achieve sales targets additional MBOs (Management Objectives) as needed
  • Willingness to travel 25-40% and work in a global team of professionals

How will you get here?

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Health, Science, or related industry
  • 5 years of relevant sales experience in a Government related field. Transportation/logistics industry-specific experience a plus
  • Strong sales experience and leadership abilities
  • Influencing and negotiating skills
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and championing and customer focused solution
  • Excellent business skills
