This is a temporary position, not to exceed one year.

Job Overview:

The Compliance Specialist 1 works in Montana Housing on the Emergency Rental Assistance Program. The Compliance Specialist 1 will be responsible for answering phones, responding to emails and other correspondence, and communicating with tenants, landlords, proxies, and the public. The Compliance Specialist 1 will also be responsible – as time permits, for reviewing applications, examining income documents, lease agreements and other documentation required from applicants. This will be done through the ServiceNow application following a process flow to determine if the information and documentation an applicant provided meets the regulatory and established eligibility criteria to provide rental and/or utility assistance. This position will be required to communicate both electronically and verbally to applicants, landlords and utility providers. Data entry experience, and ability to work independently or within a team environment is required. Compliance Specialist 1 will make recommendations to the Compliance Specialist 2 position and document any discrepancies, missing information or red flags.

This position will work remotely after training has been completed.
