New Job Tax Analyst 1-Tax Department-Kanawha Co. In West Virginia

Department of Revenue/WV State Tax Department/Kanawha Co.-Performs economic and tax-related research work within the State Tax Department under the general supervision of the Acting Director of the Research Division. The ability to write computer programs to prepare statistical summaries of various tax and economic variables; to simulate multiple step tax calculations providing analysis of changes in selected components of the calculation; and to prepare both regular and ad-hoc statistical compilations, is preferred. Analyzes tax and economic data using computer programming or software packages. Maintains databases of information including various state and national data. Analyzes proposed and enacted federal and state legislation and determines the revenue impact to the State. Develops forecasts of State revenue components. Writes narratives of selected tax and economic components for inclusion in Division and Department reports and publications. Performs related work as required. Training: A master's degree from an accredited university in public or business administration, economics, statistics, mathematics, public policy, finance, operations research, regional planning, urban studies, computer science, industrial engineering or system analysis or a closely related field.
