The Training Manager is responsible for planning and implementing a robust statewide training program that meets the diverse training needs of employees working across various disciplines in the department's business units.

This position works with the agency's management team and employees across the department to identify training needs and available resources to meet them. The position plans, develops, implements and maintains a robust training program and documents employees' completed training, utilizing a variety of training platforms, materials, media and technology.

The Training Manager works with agency staff and vendors to procure training resources. The position requires networking and collaboration with a variety of partners including other state and federal agencies to adopt best practices, make use of new and emerging technologies and secure the most effective and cost-efficient method of training provision.

The Training Manager supervises three (3) staff members who provide training and support services.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation training program's customers are employees across the department's business operations statewide.

A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Must maintain and possess a current New Mexico Driver¿s License

The Public Health Order (on Vaccination) dated August 17, 2021, requires Congregate Care Facility Workers and Hospital Workers to be fully vaccinated.

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.

This position is not covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
