Employment Terms: This job is a full-time, benefited, FLSA Exempt/Professional position in the Public and Professional Services Division that reports to the Dean of the division.

Schedule: This is a 40-hour position that works on the Lawrenceville campus

Minimum Requirements (Job Code 11413): Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline OR AAT/AS/AAS in Automotive Technology AND two years related work experience. Must hold ASE Certification OR other industry certifications. Must have minimum of two years relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Postsecondary teaching experience. Ford ASSET Program experience or Ford Technician experience preferred. In addition, demonstrated experience with a variety of teaching strategies including the use of advanced instructional technologies. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the community. Proficient in written and oral communication. Demonstrated occupational competency. Must be computer literate with the ability to use common software programs. Some experience with online instruction a plus.


Job Description: Under general supervision, serve as program director and perform duties which include curriculum design and development; instruction, recruitment, and advisement of students; budgeting; and management of adjunct faculty. The program director will be responsible for teaching a minimum of 15 credit hours of day or evening instructional courses per quarter (not including OBI or internships). Duties also include participation in college committees and participation in professional enhancement. Teaches face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes as needed to provide course delivery and scheduling options that promote student retention and program completion. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues. Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.

  • Performs administrative functions related to program records, program evaluations including assessment of learning outcomes, reports, student records, and student evaluations.
  • Evaluates selects and requests educational materials and equipment.
  • Prepares and evaluates program budgets.
  • Completes all reports and records promptly maintains an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.

  • Delivers effective individualized programs of instruction to class members.
  • Ensures adherence to technical college and safety requirements in classrooms and labs by following established procedures.
  • Correctly assesses the educational needs and class progress of students.
  • Selects and obtains appropriate educational materials for courses.
  • Prepares reports on the current status of students in the program indicating whether performance is aligned with performance indicators, program goals and progress schedule.
  • Ensures consistency in syllabi, lesson plans, tests, and other appropriate materials.
