Report in location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223
Review, audit & approve daily invoices received internally & from Ohio Shared Services (OSS) (e.g. temporary services, computers, computer software, computer hardware, & maintenance service invoices, etc.); Examine & audit transactions to ensure that expenditures are accountable from allotted funds; Examine supporting documentation (e.g., requisitions, delivery receipts, contracts, purchase orders, etc.) to determine if appropriate State & agency procedures were followed; Audit accounts to ensure that sufficient funds have been encumbered; Utilize Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS) to enter & update accounts accordingly; Analyze & resolve errors & out-of-balance conditions; Research & provide funding for requisitions to create purchase orders; Work in multiple agency & third party systems, make, approve, audit & pay for orders; Maintain a payment card (State Credit Card) & make purchases in accordance with prescribed rules & reconciles account or maintains & reconciles payment cardholder transactions in accordance with prescribed State of Ohio rules.
Prepare & analyze statistical reports & expenditures using OAKS, Cognos, Excel & Word; Process invoices, requisitions, purchase orders, vendor input documents, interstate vouchers (ISTVs), etc. in preparing expenditures & related payroll requirements; Work with vendors on invoicing & purchasing issues.
Compute & prepare estimates & cost projections for various types of account payables; Analyze figures to determine impact on agency funds & make appropriate adjustments; Research & respond to vendor financial inquiries & correspondence; Maintain files; Answer phones; Perform other related duties as assigned.
Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.
- Or 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.
- Or 12 mos. exp. as Financial Associate, 66561.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.
