Description
The Kentucky Department of Education is a premier service agency of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The department provides resources and guidance to Kentucky's public schools and districts as they implement the state's K-12 education requirements. The department also serves as the state liaison for federal education requirements and funding opportunities. The department seeks to hire a smart, experienced, hardworking and dependable Education Administration Program Consultant II to join our dedicated team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Under general direction, provide consultative services and technical assistance to local school district personnel and other state and private educational agencies, in the development, implementation, & monitoring of educational programs.
  • Identify and provide ongoing technical assistance in interpreting federal and state education laws, regulations and policies. Including, but not limited to, Title III Part A & Title I Part A. Technical assistance will be addressed through emails, face-to-face during trainings, onsite visits and other formats.
  • Gain, maintain, and apply knowledge of applicable programs. Attend professional learning opportunities as assigned.
  • Monitor school districts for compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, and non-regulatory guidance through face-to-face and online formats.
  • Review and validate program reports used for data collection and reporting for state and federal laws.
  • Collaborate with education partners within and outside of the Kentucky Department of Education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a master's degree in education.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Five years of professional experience in education, vocational education, or a related field.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Current Rank II or Rank I certification by the Department of Education or Education Professional Standards Board will substitute for the required educational requirement. Additional professional experience in the field of education will substitute for the required educational requirement on a year for year basis.

Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office or school setting. Travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
