INTRODUCTION

The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) is committed to providing quality health services to Oklahoma citizens. The mission of the Department of Health is to promote, protect and improve the health of all Oklahomans through strategies that focus on preventing disease and injuries.

OSDH is seeking a full time Chief Strategy and Business Performance Officer. This is an unclassified position in state government, located in Oklahoma City, OK. OSDH offers a comprehensive Benefits Package, including a generous benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents.The annual salary for this position is based on education and experience.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for developing and overseeing execution of a cohesive strategy for OSDH in both the short- and long-term, including ongoing program management and innovation.

Position Responsibilities /Essential Functions
  • Develop and monitor department's long-term vision and strategy
  • Work across departmental functions to gather input, understand key priorities and trends during strategic planning process
  • Overseeing identification and execution of technology-based strategic priorities
  • Define budget allocation across department functions
  • Oversee and ensure execution of strategic priorities according to proposed budget and timeline
  • Oversee, coordinate and support departmental functions with strategic planning process, including KPIs, budget allocation
  • Support PMO leader, escalating issues as needed to ensure proper resource allocation and address roadblocks
  • Remain up-to-date on public health trends, working with innovation lead to push department towards cutting edge public healthcare
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work is typically performed in an office setting with a climate controlled setting and exposure to moderate noise level. While performing the duties of the job, employee is required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computer and phones. Applicants must be willing to perform all job-related travel associated with this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in business, finance, information technology or related filed.
  • At least eight years of experience in strategy, consulting, operations and/or corporate planning.
  • People management experience, along with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with project management.
