Full Description

The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Administrative Coordinator. This position is responsible for implementation of systems and programs primarily relating to Arizona's Medicaid program. Responsibilities include participation in policy and procedure development and revision to ensure compliance with Federal/State Medicaid rules and regulations as well as consultation, coordination and implementation of systems to ensure compliance with AHCCCS policies.

Job Duties:
  • Reviews and analyzes the SC Supervisor Audit data, creates reports, trend results, monitors documentation for the action steps identified in corrective actions. Provides input and technical assistance for policies, procedures and forms that impact Support Coordination.
  • Provides oversight and technical support with AHCCCS (ALTCS & TSC) requirements in the districts. Coordinates compliance with timelines; monitors high and low users of service; cost effectiveness measures; court mandated requirements; assists with a data match for people in the targeted program; and identifies and implements Excor. Monitors the Navajo Nation IGA for Support Coordination.
  • Participates in policy and procedure development and revision to ensure compliance with federal/state Medicaid rules and regulations. Provides input and technical assistance for policies, procedures and forms that impact Support Coordination.
  • Provides oversight and technical assistance with Support Coordination requirements such as Long Term Care, Targeted Support Coordination, Behavioral Health Codes, ALTCS enrollment/disenrollment, Member Change Reports and PMMIS/LTC (CATS).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Knowledge of federal requirements related to Medicaid and Managed Care Organizations.
  • Knowledge of state laws, rules and regulations relating to the Division of Developmental Disabilities and the AHCCCS Program.
  • Skills in written and oral communication and eliciting information with all levels of staff.
  • Skills in testing and troubleshooting and extracting, compiling, analyzing, evaluating, synthesizing and presenting information
  • Skills in interpersonal relations, as applied to contacts with officials, managers and representatives of various agencies and organizations.
  • Skills in understanding and applying interpretation of standards.
  • Skills in training in individuals and groups.
  • Skills in facilitating large and small work groups addressing complex issues.
  • Skills in programs designed to meet the needs of persons with developmental/intellectual disabilities.
  • Skills in leading and supervising.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction and oversight.
  • Ability to identify priorities, set timelines for project completion.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects.
  • Ability to travel throughout state.
  • Ability to prepare reports, write plans for action or program activity based on information provided.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret policies, procedures, etc.
Selective Preference(s):

The preferred/ideal candidate will have Medicaid experience with DDD or AHCCCS and/or supervisory experience.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Travel may be required for State business. Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see
Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.) AND have an acceptable driving record in accordance with DES Fleet Management-
Safety Program policy and procedures (DES 1-07-26 & DES 1-07-26-01). Employees may be required to use their own transportation
as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
  • This position requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
