General Description:
The Typing Assistant/Notetaker types syllabi, assignments, quizzes, exams and other coursework. The Typing Assistant/Notetaker will take notes, transcribe, type and enter data as dictated by instructors.

Duties and Tasks:
The Typing Assistant/Notetaker will take notes, transcribe and type documents and enter data using Microsoft Suite applications.

  • Willing and able to learn or become familiar with content-related vocabulary
Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications

Required KSAs:
  • Good typing skills.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Clear speaking and writing skills.
  • Legible handwriting.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and/or willingness to learn and improve one’s skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Works well without direct supervision.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Must respond regularly to emails.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • Previous experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Previous experience working in customer service.
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Able to type 50 words or more per minute.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Good understanding of mathematics related vocabulary.
