Full Description

AECOM is seeking an environmental scientist/geologist to manage and facilitate regulatory compliance of two closed landfills. This is a part-time position with fixed hours that may vary depending on client and project needs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Provide oversight of field operations.

+ Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, federal and company requirements.

+ Complete landfill inspections per National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit requirements.

+ Coordinate with subcontractor for NPDES permit required sampling.

+ Monitoring of stormwater pH.

+ Prepare electronic discharge monitoring reports (DMRs) for the state agency.

+ Monitor leachate levels and coordinate loading and disposal, including completion of manifests.

+ Physically perform repairs, housekeeping, and maintenance on grounds and equipment.

+ Supervision of two part-time contingent workers.

+ Inventory and order supplies as needed.

+ On-call for auto-dialer notification calls of leachate system.

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering or closely related field + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Experience working with landfill projects.

Ability to perform field work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

OSHA 40 Haz-Woper Certification
