About the Position:
This position is located in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Fort Bragg is a military installation of the United States Army in and is one of the largest military installations in the world, with around 57,000 military personnel. It is located within Cumberland, Hoke, Harnett, and Moore counties and borders the towns of Fayetteville, Spring Lake, and Southern Pines.
- Perform a variety of school administrative functions such as student registration, student attendance, academic records maintenance, tuition status, and other related processes.
- Receive data and enter into the student information management database.
- Responsible for new student registration.
- Assembles and distributes to families student registration packets including a student schedule and hand book, regulations, a health record form, and other forms that might be required.
- Prepare a variety of letters, messages, memoranda, reports, charts, school bulletins, and other correspondence using typing and automated word processing equipment and other various software programs.
- Work in coordination with the administration to construct in the student information management system a viable school master schedule for teachers, e.g., times for preparation periods, lunch times, classroom teaching, etc.
- Implement data collection techniques for collecting and electronically transferring student grades.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Specialized experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled which includes performing school administrative functions such as student registration, attendance tracking, tuition status, such as maintaining a school electronic database; and preparing electronic office correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
