The Kentucky Department for Community Bases Services (DCBS) is a multi-faced agency that provides services and
programs to enhance the self-sufficiency of families; improve safety and permanency for children and
vulnerable adults; and engage families and community partners in a collaborative decision-making process.
DBCS offers an opportunity to assist individuals and families applying for public benefits in the
commonwealth. We are seeking an Office Support Assistant who is driven to succeed in helping people and the
vulnerable population. The Office Support Assistant will provide support to staff who determine eligibility in
various public assistance programs. The employee is expected to perform at the highest quality to ensure
services to the vulnerable citizens.

The position you are applying for has access to or use of federal tax information (FTI). Based on IRS
Publication 1075 and 900 KAR 1:009, each prospective employee of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services

criminal background investigation by means of a fingerprint check by the Department of Kentucky State Police
and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
CHFS also participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:
Receives, organizes, edits, corrects or enters various data via keyboarding
Maintains files, logs, manuals or other documents
Prepares documents for filing, storage and data entry
Drafts or prepares correspondence, detailed forms, reports or other materials
Answers inquiries and provides detailed information on office inquiries in person, via telephone or
electronic mail
Prepares daily, monthly and annual records or reports
Operates personal computers, office machines and other office equipment
Orders office supplies and maintains inventory
Schedules appointments and meetings for managers and supervisors
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience working with the public
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good time management and organizational skills
The ability to work well under pressure
A willingness to work as part of a team
