The City of West Chicago, Illinois is seeking an individual with strong communication and marketing skills to serve as its Marketing and Communications Coordinator. This position is part of the City Administrator’s Office and reports directly to the City Administrator. The position directs the development and execution of all corporate public relations and marketing activities for the City. This position advises the City Administrator on communications strategy, coordinates the City’s public relations and marketing activities and supports various City Departments to create awareness concerning their services.

Examples of other duties include: planning, developing, and implementing a variety of information for programs or materials to facilitate communication to employees and the general public; promotion of special events; and developing and producing Department and organizational information using web technology; writing and designing pages for the website to keep it up to date, interesting and interactive; and maintaining the website content to City specifications and design standards.

Serves as staff liaison to the Cultural Arts Commission. Requires Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, public relations, communications or a related field, and 5-7 years of increasingly responsible experience in the field. Government experience and/or ability to speak/write Spanish desired but not required. Salary Range $82,226 – $115,117.
