Job Description

This position performs clerical assignments in a Parole/Probation Office where production typing, organizing files, operating computer equipment, and statistical data is a substantial part of the work. In addition, transcribing reports from mechanical dictating equipment and perform receptionist duties as needed. This position must be occupied by a self-motivated individual who can work independently and maintain effective office procedures as it pertains to the clients and general public.

This position is located at the Livingston Probation Office.

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

Experience
Word Processing Assistant 5
No specific type or amount is required.

Word Processing Assistant 6
One year of administrative support experience where use of a personal computer to prepare correspondence, reports, charts, etc., or to enter/retrieve/update information is an essential part of the work.

Word Processing Assistant E7
Two years of administrative support experience, including one year equivalent to a 6-level administrative support classification, where use of a personal computer to prepare correspondence, reports, charts, etc., or to enter/retrieve/update information is an essential part of the work.
