Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry or related field with one or more years of research training.
Research publications in synthetic organic chemistry.
Excellent knowledge of modern synthetic and analytical techniques.
Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
Experienced skills related to the documentation of experiments.
Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
Ability to meet strict deadlines.
Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
1-3 years of relevant academic or industrial research experience.
Proficiency in computational chemistry methods

Summary of Position:
Design and optimize synthetic routes and performing chemical synthesis of biologically active molecules, including those for animal testing on diverse scales. Develop and implement analytical methods for structure elucidation and purity assessment of chemical compounds.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
75%- Design and execute synthetic and analytical procedures for biologically active chemical compounds.
15%- Participate in preparation of technical proposals, technical reports, scientific publications and presentations.
10%- Other duties as assigned

As part of the College of Pharmacy, the Institute for Therapeutics Discovery & Development (ITDD) carries out interdisciplinary research, helps educate the next generation of scientists, and enhances the biomedical research infrastructure by creating opportunities for drug discovery and early pre-clinical drug development.
