Position Description:
If you are interested in supporting the Army's mission to maintain route clearance equipment, Serco has a great opportunity for you! Serco is seeking a full time Journeyman Field Service Technician to support the Husky Mounted Detection System (HMDS) located at Fort Polk, LA. You will be part of a 2-member team that works closely with the customer to ensure the HMDS equipment is ready for training at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC), and throughout the Continental United States (CONUS). In this role, you will identify, analyze, and repair product failures, orders, and replace parts as needed. You will determine and recommend which products or services best fit the customers needs, and perform the following:
  • Maintain HMDS equipment before, during, and after JRTRC rotations
  • Troubleshoot HMDS equipment for other than operator-level maintenance
  • Install HMDS equipment in support of the HMDS installation teams
  • Travel throughout the continental United States (CONUS)
  • Submit reports that detail status of equipment, repairs, and travel
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of experience (12 years of experience in lieu of a degree)
  • Must be capable of performing analysis of system operations
  • Must have knowledge of and experience in the operations of hardware systems and components
  • Must have experience in fault detection, isolation, and correction of hardware systems and individual components
  • Must be capable of routine system maintenance and analysis functions including hardware configurations; adding, removing, and replacing hardware components; use of hardware and software diagnostic testing tools; reading of electronic circuit schematics; and repairing printed circuit boards
Desired Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of selected computer applications (ex. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
