Summary

Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Resources Manager. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides consistent leadership for the land and natural resource, recreation and geographic information system management functions of the Upper Snake Field Office (USFO) in accordance with Reclamation policies, goals and objectives;
  • Supervises a diverse staff of realty, natural resource, recreation and geographic information system specialists;
  • Oversees scope, schedule and budget for a broad portfolio of land and natural resource activities;
  • Creates and maintains open and effective communication and collaboration with subordinates and Area Office staff, Region and Denver staff, external constituents, other Federal and state agencies and the general public;
  • Advises the Area Manager, Assistant Area Manager, and appropriate Regional Office management on complex and/or controversial issues that could impact successful program accomplishment.

    Qualifications

    In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.

    To qualify at the GS-13, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-12 level in federal service having demonstrated experience managing a land resource, natural resource, recreation and/or geographic information system program; managing budget formulation and execution; supervising a diverse workforce consisting of realty, natural resource, recreation and geographic information system specialists; maintaining an effective working relationship with both public and private entities which have an interest in lands and natural resources.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors if applicable, by 08/11/2021.
