Position: Program ManagerReports To: Director of the Met Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (E-360)Employment Status:>/b> Part-time, Academic Year Hourly Rate: $20 - $25/hr, 20 hrs per week (This is an annual contract based on 38 weeks plus anadditional 2 weeks of work during school vacations during which the position will continue working on duties as assigned)Start Date: ImmediatelyPosition Overview: The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (E-360), or the E-Center has 3 major tasks:1) to educate students about business organization, operation, financing, and risk management2) to establish a high profile for the program in order to create a market for student products, and3) to consult and hold workshops for other schools across the country.The E-Center creates career pathways and life opportunities for high school students who show a desire and aptitudefor innovation in business. Students are exposed to every element of start-up business from development to basicfinancial math, expository writing, research, and critical thinking, and public speaking. Because students developcomplete business plans and excel at presenting their ideas publicly, the Entrepreneurship Center has developed areputation for producing qualified, confident, and knowledgeable young entrepreneurs who have participated andbeen awarded start-up funds on the national level consistently for the past twelve years.The Program Manager works on Entrepreneur projects that are local and national in scope. The successful candidatewill be detail-oriented, organized, persistent in follow up/through, and able to manage and motivate him/herself, andadept at multitasking. Equally important, he/she must possess strong interpersonal and communication (oral andwritten) skills and enjoy working with a diverse team of employees who share a passion for the work theyre doing.Finally, a capacity for playfulness and fun will be appreciated.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    ? Plan and organize programmatic and operational layout for entrepreneurial education? Develop and expand the current curriculum and co-teach certain sections or classes of the curriculum? Collaborate with and assist Director in development of curriculum? Create benchmarks for success and outcome measurements? Assess and collaborate with Director the programs ongoing and future resource needs? Evaluate and report upon students progress on a regular basis? Develop linkages with public and private enterprises? Assist in the creation and development of E-Center events, programs, and activities? Participate in meeting and cultivating external stakeholders from the community? Co-Coordinate volunteer and internship based activities, contacts, and community? Assist with meeting logistics, including set-up, catering, and official minute taking.? Serve as E-Center greeter to all visitors (including students) and oversee facility tours? Coordinate general office logistics including technology, file maintenance, and security? Cultivate relationships that reflect the E-Centers culture? Maintain an inventory of office supplies and process all orders? Responsible to research, prepare, organize and support students in gaining relevant certifications? Create organizational systems and tools that sustain the Director in her daily work? Work directly with students on specific projects as needed? Complete additional assignments from the Director as needed; schedule flexibility is a must? Special project work? Other duties as assigned based on organizational needs and skills/interests of the candidate? Job duties subject to change.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Associates Degree or relevant/equivalent work experience
  • Drivers license
  • Strong interest in and passion for education and youth
  • Experience teaching in a nontraditional learning environment preferred but not required
  • Participate in outreach and learning with community partners and stakeholders
  • Ability to network and comfortable public speaking
  • Experience and comfort in facilitating group learning
  • Comfort building organizational values and establishing workplace culture
  • Experience working with youth in a group and one-on-one, comfortable in a multi-age setting
  • Valid RI Drivers License and dependable means of transportation
  • Technology proficiency
  • Accounting, fundraising, and database management skills preferred
  • Ability to take initiative on specific tasks while also being mindful of the big picture
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills as well as excellent ability to multitask
  • Resiliency; ability to improvise and work through uncertainties both as a team member and independently
  • Proactive, take-charge attitude coupled with an upbeat personality and good sense of humor.
  • Highly organized
  • Interest and or experience in entrepreneurship
  • A Chauffeurs license will be required once hired (information on process on hiring date)
