Position description

The Registration Representative is responsible for the accurate check-in/admissions of incoming patients in the hospital setting as well the Emergency Department setting. This includes the verification of patient demographic information, collection of insurance data, the identification and/or creation of appropriate accounts, and the collection of indicated co-payments and/or share of cost. The Registration Representative is required to ensure patient safety using positive patient identification protocols and obtain the appropriate consents as required. This role requires adherence to quality assurance guidelines as well as established productivity standards to support the work unit's performance expectations.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience required

OR

Bachelor's degree required

Additional Requirements include:
Ability to read and communicate effectively
Basic computer/keyboarding skills, intermediate mathematic competency
Good written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of proper phone etiquette and phone handling skills

Additional qualifications

Position requires good communication skills. Prior desk, appointment, or secretarial experience and a working knowledge of scheduling systems and procedures are preferred. Must have the ability to interact on a professional level with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of and experience using an Epic RC/EMR system is preferred.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $15.49 per hour.

The Department is Staffed by Registration Representatives 24/7 7 days/week, including Holidays and Weekends. Hours will vary based on business need; schedules are posted 4/6 weeks in advance.

This work setting is based in a hospital/clinic check in and registration environment including bedside registration in Emergency and Hospital departments.

This position includes working rotating day and night shifts weekdays, weekends and holidays

Weekend schedule

Shared Rotation with other Team Members:

Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Holidays
7p-7a and 7a-7p.
