Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Engineering Nuclear Materials Acquisition group is seeking forward-thinking, professionals interested in exploring a technical career as a Receiving Inspector!

The Receiving Inspector will provide receipt inspection support at MFC (Primary) and WestOne (Secondary) receipt inspection locations. The role of the receiving inspector is to ensure compliance with DOE, Company, and customer specific requirements applicable to Quality Inspection. They perform and report visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical and electronic inspection of supplier-furnished material and equipment at the source or point of destination in accordance with approved inspection planning documentation and applicable procedures. They determine acceptability of supplier furnished equipment and material by properly interpreting design or manufacturing drawings, specifications, procurement documents, Asset Suite Catalog IDs, salient features lists, and industrial codes and standards. They also resolve or provide recommendations for resolution of material discrepancies as identified, assure adequate and effective material status control at all times, and ust be familiar with all types of precision measurement equipment including dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, etc. Familiarity with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), FARO Arm, and other PC controlled inspection equipment preferred. Competency in operation of tracking databases such as NCR (non-conformance reports), identifying suspect/counterfeit materials and following inspection plans is also their responsibility.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Level 2 - High School Diploma plus 1-2 years relevant receiving inspection experience.
  • Level 3 - High School Diploma plus 2-4 years relevant receiving inspection experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Able to lift-up to 35 lbs. Must be willing to travel if necessary.
  • Experience conducting inspections and the utilization of M&TE.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication and inspection processes including QC processes such as Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), dimensional, visual, and various forms of testing.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in Asset Suite, LabWay, Paperless and ProTrak.
  • Effectively and efficiently utilize/operate automated business systems, company standard software applications and electronic communication tools.
