Summary

About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.

Position may be filled at any grade level.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct complaint investigations with responsibility for each phase of the case through resolution.
  • Provide testimony in an administrative hearing or subsequent court action.
  • Review allegations, identify pertinent data, interview witnesses and develop the legal theories and investigative plan.
  • Plan and conduct on-site investigations to collect necessary data material and records.
  • Prepare interview reports, conduct statistical analysis, organized case information, draft investigative reports and complaint resolution letters.
  • Conduct compliance review of the policies and practices of selected recipient institutions with respect to the requirements of appropriate statues.
  • Provide technical assistance regarding their civil rights and responsibilities of the organization management and workforce.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.     Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative duties such as: gathering weekly, monthly and quarterly status reports reviewing a variety of narrative and/or statistical data to prepare recurring and special reports on status of informal complaints and; Assists higher graded employees conduct analyses of data to support Equal Employment Opportunity counsel, advice, and technical guidance recommendations for managers, employees and applicants. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

    Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

    OR

    Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled.

    OR

    Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

    Specialized Experience, GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes; write various reports, making analysis from raw data utilizing Excel, Power Point and Word. Provide EEO training for New Employee Orientation, Supervisory Training, etc. with little oversight by higher graded employees. Brief supervisors, managers, and Command Staff on various facets of EEO with little guidance from highergraded employees.
    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

    Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

    OR
    Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

    Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07)

    Specialized Experience, GS-11, One year of specialized experience which includes; Federal EEO Laws, regulations, policies and relevant precedent decisions; experience in the use of fact-finding, problem solving, and analytical methods, which result in the determination of the meaning, relevance, veracity, and importance of a large body of moderately complex and interrelated facts and evidence, skill in the use of counseling, negotiation, conciliation and conflict resolution techniques; application of effective written and verbal communication skills in order to present moderately complex and interrelated prioritizing abilities; and dealing effectively with others to secure participation in the investigative/counseling process.

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

    Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. [remove LL.M., if unrelated] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study].

    Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
