THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is recruiting for a highly experienced, hardworking individual to fill the Deputy Director of Field Operations position. This position directs and oversees the Bureaus of Fisheries, Hatcheries, Engineering, and Boating including scientific, engineering, fish production, and boating staff, facilities, marina management, water safety and recreational boating, and boating access areas statewide. This position provides administrative oversight of operating budgets, personnel, policies, strategic plan implementation, and innovative program development. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with an ability to accurately analyze and clearly present complex information to varied audiences are essential.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the Deputy Director of Field Operations, you will provide leadership, supervision, program development, and coordination of activities of the Bureaus of Engineering, Fisheries, Hatcheries, and Boating. Responsible for all agency activities related to infrastructure, field operations, aquatic resources, and boating.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday-Friday
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
½ hour lunch
(37.5 hour work week)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Six years of professional experience in a public or private organization managing fisheries or hatchery programs including three years of experience supervising professionals; and a bachelor's degree; OR

An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of experience supervising professionals.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
The selected candidate must pass Act 153 Child Abuse Clearances entailing a State Police background check, a Department of Human Services background check, and an FBI fingerprint check.
