Job Description:

We are seeking to hire multiple Child Support Case Managers (Entry) for our Hillsboro Office . Job Duties (in part)

Due to the nature of this position, the required work hours are 8a.m. – 5p.m., Monday through Friday, with an hour scheduled for lunch.

  • Review individuals’ case documents and records to determine if a child support order is needed.

  • Contacting agency customers and other service providers to gather information to assist in establishing paternity and to establish and enforce support orders.

  • Establish, modify, enforce, and provide accounting records for child support orders by deciding needed action.

  • Apply federal laws, Oregon laws and rules, agency policies and procedures.

  • Verify payments are properly disbursed.

  • Verify accuracy of any State agency claims against child support.

  • Request, review and evaluate paternity declarations to initiate action. Complete and file legal documents to establish paternity. Process modification requests.

  • Gather wage and health care information, research and apply child support guidelines to calculate support obligation.

  • Distribute child support payments to appropriate accounts, evaluate reports to identify payments that should be held or released.

  • Review documents for credit and debit satisfactions and adjust cases, takes action to bring accounts into balance as necessary.

  • Use a variety of laws, guidelines, policies, and procedures relating to child support to analyze information, calculate support obligations, and assure correct application of monies to child support cases.

  • Audit cases and support records to verify that cases comply with rules, laws, and are accurate, and provide report of audit results.

Required Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience working with the public in person or by phone giving information about services and programs and solving customer problems/complaints. Experience must include the use of personal computers and typical software such as word processing.

OR

  • Bachelor's Degree may substitute for the above experience. To receive credit for a degree, you must attach a photocopy of your transcripts to your application.

Work experience is based on a 40-hour work week. (Example: 20 hours a week for one year would equal six-months of work experience.)


After one year and upon a successful completion of trial service as a Child Support Case Manager-Entry, Child Support Case Manager-Entries will then meet the minimum qualifications of Child Support Case Manager and be placed in the Child Support Case Manager classification (Salary Range (21) - $3586 - $5460 monthly. 6% of which is PERS contribution)

Current Child Support Case Managers with the Oregon Division of Child Support who are successful finalists will be processed as lateral transfers.

New Entry Level Case Managers are typically brought in at step 1($3,080) or step 2($3,211). Under Pay Equity Laws very special circumstances must exist for consideration of a higher starting salary.
