New job Budget Analyst III in South Carolina

Position works under direct supervision of the Manager of Budget and will analyze accounting records to determine financial resources required to implement and continue countywide programs. The position will make recommendations for budget allocations and audit to ensure conformance to budgetary limits. Will include the compilation of data based on statistical studies and analysis of past and current years to prepare budgets and justify funds requested. Position will continuously perform countywide cost analysis in an effort to identify operations at-risk. Results of analysis will require the preparation of a variety of statistical reports. Also responsible for reviewing operating budgets periodically in order to analyze trends affecting budget needs. Position will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and performs a variety of complicated tasks. Position performs a wide variety of complex financial analysis including the control of confidential data. Individual will be required to maintain ongoing written and verbal contact concerning budget status with department directors and agencies outside of the county. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The position may be required to perform other assignments as required by the immediate supervisor or other management personnel. Position will typically report to a Manager of Budget or. Director of Budget and Grants Management.

Requires Bachelor’s degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in accounting, business administration, or a related field. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Requires four years of relevant work experience.
