Summary

About the Position:
This position is an Army Sustainment Command position located at the Joint Personal Property Shipping Office (JPPSO), Hanscom AFB, Middlesex, MA.
This position will be filled on a permanent basis.


Responsibilities

  • Advise on entitlement orprocedures related to temporary storage of goods, weight allowances, prohibited items and shipment of unaccompanied baggage, privately owned vehicles and household goods.
  • Prepare cost estimates, maintain records of lot storage, weight allowances to assist customer in determining the best method of movement.
  • Determine carriers and arrange for the pickup, delivery and storage of personal property.
  • Compose and type in draft form, correspondence, messages and memorandums relating to shipment of property.
  • Prepare and process a variety of forms relating to the shipment, receipt and storage of personal property.
  • Answer telephonic, in-person and written inquires on matters pertaining to shipment of personal property within the continental United States and overseas.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized Experience requirements described below.     Specialized Experience GS-06:To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as experience with transportation procedures/operations to perform a variety of procedural assignments; resolve a wide range of problems pertaining to the personal property function; perform office automation functions (such as standardized work processing and receipt of transmission of electronic mail); Skill in data entry to analyze correlate/evaluate transportation data for input into automated systems.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

    Selective Placement Factor:This position requires you to be a qualified typist, typing at least 40 words per minute (wpm) with three (3) or fewer errors based on a five (5) minute sample.
