Summary

About the Position: This position is located in: Tacoma WA, Bethesda MD, and Honolulu HI, working as a Process Improvement Specialist (LSS MBB) for the Defense Health Agency


Responsibilities

  • Providing project leadership and technical support in the creation, management, and sustainment of a methodical approach to increasing quality and improved performance throughout all clinical and business areas in support of the DHA Strategy.
  • Leading and mentoring complex projects, often cutting across organizational lines.
  • Facilitating significant quality and process improvement activities using Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and other Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) strategies at the Market level.
  • Performing a wide range of strategically and operationally important performance improvement initiatives/projects with the goals of improved health and readiness outcomes, optimized and standardized processes and services

    To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled which includes: Advising leadership on healthcare performance/portfolio management, gap identification project selection, scoping, and chartering at the headquarters level; selecting the most appropriate methodology for developing an execution plan that ensures successful implementation and sustainment; using business processing tools and statistical analysis to develop project execution plans; meeting and coaching improvement work within the organization. (typical to GS-13)

    Licensure: A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSS MBB) certification is required. You must provide proof of certification into your application package.

    Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
