Responsibilities:
§ Understands the company’s vision, mission, and strategy; understands business unit objectives and sets/accomplishes individual performance goals accordingly.

§ Supervises the logistics activities of receiving, storage and shipping to ensure error free order fulfillment, optimized fleet/network management, aggressive inventory control, superior customer service and efficient facility utilization. Included in these activities are inventory control, warehousing, transportation, logistics planning, order processing and customer service. Resolves quality, service and cost issues.
§ Assists in driving the safety program for this VPP site. Drives the new Behavioral Based Safety program down to all of the asociates. Supervises relevant OSHA, federal, state, local and facility safety requirements.

§ Drives and leads continuous improvement of the delivery and material handling processes. Responsible for process improvement using data analysis and root cause methology. Assists team in improving inventory accuracy through tight process control and cycle counting. Also responsible for oversight of on-hand inventory levels along with damage and claims.

§ Trains branch associates on standard logistics processes and reviews performance metrics with direct reports.

§ Coordinates operational redesign projects to improve performance and meet customer needs. Generates and implements innovations for logistical competitive advantage that improve performance. Implements Lean concepts & practices.

§ Monitors and assists in the maintenance of fixed assets (facility, forklifts and fleet). Works with outside maintenance vendors for completing both PM’s and repairs. Assists in developing site logistics budget with focus on continuously improving year over year performance against metrics.

Leads team; selects/hires; develops objectives; coaches and evaluates performance. Ensures direct reports obtain applicable training and development opportunities to enhance performance, development, and contributions to the company. Holds direct reports accountable for individual and team performance. Addresses performance issues appropriately and timely.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of Logistics functions. Knowledge of financial or cost analysis and measurements of logistics. Experience with industrial safety practices and procedures. DOT exposure a plus. Knowledge and experience in vendor pick ups, stock replenishment; communication skills; inventory control; material, stock handling, shipping and receiving; safety, products and governmental compliance. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant tools / technology to improve logistics performance. Project Management experience a plus. Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.

Year of experience: 1-2 years logistics experience in a warehousing environment and 1 year of superviosory experience.
