Summary

You will serve as a TRAINING ADMINISTRATOR ASSISTANT in the Executive Department (Code 100), Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Protection Office (108) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.


Responsibilities

  • You will research, develop, and present Occupational Safety Health and Environmental related training.
  • You will develop training schedules and allocation of required facilities and equipment.
  • You will provide a practical application that is integrated into established work processes and procedures of the various codes/shops.
  • You will develop, distribute and track completion of OSHE training bulletins and flashes.
  • You will assist with the management of the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).

    • This position requires an IT-II level designation.
    • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
    • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
    • The incumbent may be required to take medical examinations to assess his/her medical qualification for work involving these agents.

    Qualifications

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

    Experience assisting with education and training principles, techniques, and practices; Experience assisting with the incorporation of the latest developments and integration of subjects into instruction; Experience creating necessary training aids to be used during training; Experience developing training and training activities to familiarize new hires or transfers with services, policies, procedures, an responsibilities; Experience researching required and relevant topics in order to develop and conduct training classes.

    Examples of Qualifying experience:
    • Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
    • Supervising or administering a training program.
    • Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
    • Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.

    Will be required to take physical examinations in accordance with mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Standards and Requirements. Will be required to use protective devices, clothing, and/or equipment such as, but not limited to, safety glasses, hard hats, harnesses, life jackets, respirators, safety shoes, etc., while exposed to adverse environmental and hazardous work assignments.

    May be required to travel as the need arises for the purposes such as training, attendance at meetings, participation in work efforts at other shore activities and on board ships and submarines at sea.
