POSITION: PROGRAM ASSISTANT – STAFF ACCOUNTANT

SALARY RANGE: P16 $43,753.77 - $61,557.03

LOCATION: CONTROLLER'S OFFICE

JOB SUMMARY: New Jersey City University is searching for a Staff Accountant. Reporting to the Associate Controller, the Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing analyses for management and requesters and providing accounting services as assigned. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare/Enter journal entries
  • Preparation of supporting schedules
  • Monthly Chargebacks
  • Monthly/Quarterly entry due to/from
  • WCH Monthly Trust Cash Reconciliation
  • Foundation bank reconciliations
  • Foundation Investment reconciliations
  • Daily Raiser’s Edge reconciliation
  • Document uploads
  • Monitor batch uploads and enter manually generate journals if necessary
  • AD Hoc reports as necessary
  • Reconcile quarterly and year end lead sheets
  • Meeting deliverable deadlines
  • Performing other duties as assigned

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university or college

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years of Accounting, and preferable experience with PeopleSoft General Ledger

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. A record of excellent communication and writing skills. Maintain a professional demeanor. Interpersonal and team building skills. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
