Duties

Summary

Due to the Pandemic, and individual states with different phases of reopening, the selectee’s report date to the official duty station/facility may be delayed until such time as employees are allowed to report to the workplace. The person selected may telework up to the maximum extent possible, up to and including full time, until it is safe to relocate.


Responsibilities

The employee serves as a Regulatory Support Assistant in the Flight Program Operations Aircraft Operations Directorate, Technical Support Group.

Serves as communication focal point for internal and external customers regarding scheduling requests, flight operations, and federal reporting requirements.

Assists in the tracking of reports of investigation or inquiries to ensure compliance with applicable policies and adherence to regulatory guidance for findings, referrals, timely resolution, and closure.

Performs Regulatory Support activities with limited assistance from a supervisor to plan and perform regulatory assignments for the Aircraft Operations Directorate.

Utilizes knowledge of Flight Program regulations, policies and procedures to perform assistance work requiring extensive searches of records, reference materials, manuals, or historical documents.

Employee is regarded as a source of information on regulatory requirements and is often called upon to provide accurate information relating to Flight Program Operations.

Maintains and updates correspondence and their templates in accordance with Regulatory Program regulations and policies.

Independently collects, tracks, computes, and summarizes data for upward reporting.
Communicates frequently with managers and employees to share information, relevant to Flight Program Operations.

Assists in the tracking of investigations or inquiries to ensure compliance with applicable policies and adherence to regulatory guidance for findings, referrals, timely resolution, and closure.

    To qualify at the FG/GS-09 (FV-F) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level of FG/GS-07 (FV-E) level. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE may include but is not limited to: Experience performing support functions for aviation operations; experience working with regulatory documentation and correspondence under 14 CFR; experience in gathering and compiling aviation data; and experience compiling spreadsheets, preparing reports and presentations.
