Purpose:
Performs a variety of machining processes on raw material. Utilizes measuring equipment to ensure components meet tolerance specifications and quality standards.

Embraces the Lean Enterprise strategy and adheres to all safety policies.
Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Percent of Time Spent:

Reads work orders, bills of materials, blueprints, and other written or verbal work instructions. Perform required machine set-ups and operate CNC machining centers. Monitors machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature, and troubleshoot issues. Use precision measuring devices to take measurements, and mark material for cutting, shaping, or deburring.

Must be able to effectively communicate within a team environment. Ability to take oral and written instructions and complete tasks within the defined labor standards.

Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages. Prioritize necessary actions to complete jobs before deadlines. Utilize computer applications to monitor time and job assignments that need to be completed.

Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of potential dangers in work area. Cleans and performs preventative maintenance on tools and equipment if required. Practices good housekeeping in work area and properly disposes of waste according to safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:
Must have High School Diploma or GED
2 years related work experience or Associates Degree in Machining Technology or Journeyman Machinist Certification with 1 year work related experience.
Demonstrated ability to meet safety, production, and quality requirements in assigned area.
Computer skills in Microsoft applications, tracking software (Syteline, Shop-trak, etc.)

Good oral and written communication skills. Safety and detail oriented.

Experience:
At least 2 years related CNC machining experience and using similar tools and measuring equipment preferred.

Work Environment:
Spends majority of time in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to possible shop hazards including noise, heavy lifting, machinery, cranes, industrial and construction equipment. Could be exposed to diverse hot and cold climate conditions for extended periods of time.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. Ability to use full functionality of hands. Regularly required to lift and move 50 pounds and above. Ability to push mobile carts and work from a ladder or platform. Ability to see and hear effectively.
