Infoscitex (IST), a DCS company, has an exceptional opportunity for an intern interested in pursuing a STEM career field to support the development of prototype applications for multi-domain synthetic environments in Dayton, OH. Our team is developing applications to visualize sensor feeds leveraging the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM).

AFSIM is a U.S. Air Force simulation environment written in C++ and utilized for engagement-level and mission-level analysis by military operations research analysts to evaluate combat effectiveness of advanced weapon system concepts. AFSIM is a Monte Carlo simulation tool capable of running either constructively to generate analytic results, or in real-time to support Operator in the Loop (OITL) Experimentation and Wargaming needs. AFSIM is now becoming accepted as a standard operations analysis tool across DoD and industry.


Essential job functions:

In this role, you can anticipate requests to:

Interact with government and industry customers to capture requirements and develop tools to meet those requirements.

Collaborate with subject matter experts, such as pilots and technologists, to identify requirements for system implementation in models and simulations.

Develop user interfaces and enhance simulation functionality.

Apply best practicies in for software development techniques and methodologies.

Operate in a team environment, working closely with the team lead and team members.


Requirements:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

At least partial completion of a HS diploma and intention of pursuing a Bachelor degree in a STEM related discipline.

Some experience with an object-oriented software programming languages (such as C++, C#, Java, Python).

Strong interest in programming and software development.

Ability to work well in team oriented environments.

Highly motivated problem solver.


An ideal candidate may bring the following attributes, although these are not firm requirements for consideration:

Active security clearance, Secret or higher.

Knowledge and experience with Modeling & Simulation (M&S) environments (constructive and virtual) and/or Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) concepts.

Familiarity with modern military systems, both foreign and domestic.

Scripting or programming experience.
