We're looking for an enthusiastic Human Services Specialist I who performs general casework and customer service duties in an Economic Services inbound call center. The HSSI will prepare correspondences, tracking logs, and special assignments as required by supervisor.

Answer constituent calls regarding SNAP and TANF benefits in a centralized inbound call center environment and escalates constituent complaints regarding benefit delivery to the appropriate Economic Services Center for review and resolution within the required time frame and in accordance with federal legislation, state laws and regulations, and Agency policy and procedures. Disseminates SNAP/TANF reported changes to the Economic Services Center.

Ensures proper documentation of all cases and case actions taken, as well as disseminating client communications/notices via the agency CHIP systems. Communicates with State and County DSS staff, to facilitate appropriate action regarding information reported through the constituent call process.

Maintain automated complaint database and other tracking reports in an effort to track constituent calls and responses and to identify county and/or statewide trends regarding constituent issues.

Ensures that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. Protects the Agency's networks and applications
by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.

A High School Diploma and three (3) years experience in clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business.

An Associate's Degree and one (1) year experience in clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business.

Ability to interpret and apply TANF and/or SNAP federal and state laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of services available from the community and other public and private programs. Ability to organize and maintain a caseload. Ability to conduct interviews and analyze case data to make appropriate decisions. Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships and communicate effectively. Ability to master required databases and systems.
