Position is assigned to Environmental Program Service (EPS) at the VA Medical Center in White River Junction, VT and reports to Chief, Environmental Management Service (EMS). Position is responsible for administrative, supervisory oversight of Sanitation, Patient Centered Care, Linen & Textile Care, Interior Design, Recycling & Pest Control Management for the facility and its Community-Based Outpatient Clinics in Bennington, Brattleboro, Burlington, Newport, Rutland, VT; Keene, Littleton, NH.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develops and implements training programs encompassing all EPS functions;
- Performs work in the development of courses for specified training;
- Provides hands-on training, visual presentations, handouts, etc.;
- Provides instruction covering a wide variety of topics in well-established areas of environmental services;
- Assists Chief, Assistant Chiefs, and/or Administrative Officer in evaluating courses;
- Maintains communication with EMS management to obtain information for projects and activities;
- Performs other related duties as required.

QualificationsPHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: Most of the work is performed indoors in a typical office setting and throughout the medical center. Incumbent may be exposed to inclement weather while traveling between buildings. The work environment involves everyday risks, or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, training rooms, in-patient wards, nonpatient wards, clinical areas, surgical suites, shop areas, and mental health units.
