THE POSITION

The Bureau of Enforcement and Investigation is seeking a pharmacist dedicated to upholding the standards of the pharmacy profession. The Pharmacy Inspector position ensures that a high standard is maintained by performing detailed inspections of pharmacies throughout the region.

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 1 hour lunch period

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Performs field inspection work to determine compliance with the laws, rules, and regulations regarding professional and occupational licensing and other areas under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Commonwealth. The primary focus of the position is the inspection of pharmacies, but employees may be required to inspect other professional and occupational license types as operationally required.

Conducts physical inspections of pharmacies to determine compliance with the laws, rules, and regulations of the Commonwealth and the State Board of Pharmacy.

Travels to various sites in a geographic area of the state to conduct periodic inspections of all affected professions and occupations, by observation and interviews, noting any deviation from established standards, and preparing reports to communicate findings.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications:

  • NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a license to practice pharmacy as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy.
