Job Title: Data Analyst Department: Data Compliance Location: Modesto Shift: Monday- Friday 7:30m – 4:00pm Full-Time / Part-Time: Full-Time Classification: Non-Exempt Reports to: Chief Operating Officer Yosemite Pathology is a private independent pathologist owned and operated surgical pathology and cytology laboratory based in Modesto, CA. YP provides comprehensive state of the art, reliable, and accurate diagnostic services to its physicians and major area hospitals in the Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Kern, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Solano, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties. YP offers a full spectrum of tissue pathology, cytology, and histology services, including examination of gynecologic specimens, body fluids and fine needle aspiration specimens. We also offer an extensive array of special stains and immunohistochemistry to assist in the management of oncologic and non-oncologic diseases. The laboratory is supported by highly qualified Histotechnologist, Cytotechnologist, Technicians and office staff who offer excellent service. Summary/Objective We are currently seeing a Data Analyst to join the team. This position will be responsible for interpreting data and analyzing results across multiple databases. Essential Functions  Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques  Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems  Provide ongoing reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis  Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets  Filter and “clean” data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct problems  Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs  Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality  Locate and define new process improvement opportunities  Other duties as assigned Minimum Job Requirements and Key Skills Needed  Proven working experience as a data analyst  Strong work ethics, well organized and a self-starter  Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner  Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing  Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment  Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques  Knowledge of and experience with reporting software  Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (i.e. Excel)  Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy  Strong problem solving skills  Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings Work Environment This position operates in an office environment and involves frequent time spent at a desk using a computer. This position works individually, as well as with peers and supervisors frequently.
