POSITION SUMMARY:

Sugarbush Resort is searching for a Housekeeping Supervisor for Clay Brook, our luxury slope side residency. The Clay Brook Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and supervising the daily workload for the Clay Brook housekeeping staff, including Common Area personnel. Oversees the day-to-day operations in accordance with government and department standards as well as resort policies. Housing may be available for this position, subject to availability.

This is a full-time year-round position with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, flexible spending accounts for both medical and dependent care, and 401(k). PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate daily assignments for Clay Brook housekeeping and Custodial teams
  • Conduct random and seasonal clean unit inspections and common areas inspection and review
  • Conduct unit secures for units not cleaned on day of departure
  • Coordinate owner services and concerns with the Owner Services Manager, as needed
  • Maintain tracking systems including, but not limited to, work orders, lost & found, jet tubs, carpets, equipment, seasonal cleans and others as needed, or developed
  • Train new hires on department tasks and procedures
  • Oversee daily workload maintaining expectations to a consistent standard
  • Generate the weekly schedule
  • Coach employees and foster their growth within the department and resort
  • Oversee daily punches in TimeStar; allocating hours to the correct department as needed

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct daily turnout meetings when business levels indicate
  • Coordinate maintenance of unit inventory and storage areas with Hotel Custodian Lead
  • Provide feedback to housekeepers on cleaning behavior/performance; input to annual and seasonal employee reviews
  • Ensure that the cleanliness of units & common areas are up to the standards as directed by Sugarbush Resort
  • Prioritize assignments to be the most efficient with resources and supplies while maintaining the highest degree of quality guest care
  • Perform all tasks in an environmentally sound manner, especially in regard to proper disposal of all waste
  • Be aware of budget guidelines and the need to stay at or below those guidelines whenever possible without compromising the guest experience
  • Execute tasks outlined in the Annual calendar regarding monthly and bi-annual requirements
  • Support the Sugarbush Vision and Values and departmental policies
  • May also be asked by Management to provide assistance in other areas
  • Member of the Bloodborne Pathogen Responder team

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age with a minimum of a high school diploma, or, equivalent
  • Previous supervisory experience of one year, or more, desired
  • Valid Driver’s License desired with proof of automobile liability insurance and an acceptable driving record desired
  • Must pass a background check and be able to obtain a Sugarbush license, subject to DMV check
  • Good organizational skills are essential; must have the ability to foresee potential problems and make independent decisions
  • Must be a proactive problem solver and adaptable to changing workloads
  • Proficiency with computers and office technology

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES/REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Will work with cleaning chemicals and other housekeeping equipment; generally indoors
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand for a full work shift and work while bending, stooping, reaching
  • Ability to work on uneven ground and climb stairs
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and lesser weights more often
  • Ability to use hands for grasping and manipulating for long periods of time
  • Ability to communicate effectively electronically, over the telephone, 2-way radio and in-person
  • Visual acuity necessary for operating machines where the seeing job is at or within arms reach
  • Use of personal vehicle may be required; mileage will be reimbursed as per company policy
