Associate Technical Professional – Structural

Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.

This position is located at a client site in Parkersburg, WV. No Per Diem or Relocation will be offered.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, work may be performed in a remote capacity. Once the COVID-19 Pandemic guidelines for social distancing have been reduced, work will be required to be performed on site.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for technical content on construction released structural drawings
  • Responsible for preparing structural calculations
  • Responsible for preparing construction specifications

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Structural/Civil Engineering
  • Certification as an Engineer-In-Training is preferred
  • Experience in structural and civil engineering is preferred

Physical Qualifications

  • Work is located at a working plant and requires exposure to ambient temperature extremes
  • Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots
  • Day-to-day physical requirements involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs frequently, etc
  • Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs
    • May require walking the plant property
